Artist's Comments

Here's the next in the series of my Karamazov paintings. The assignment was to create an image in an impressionist style. Once again, I apologize for the horrendous quality. It doesn't help that I merged like three photos to get what I have...

This is during the meeting with Zosima. It's probably rather inaccurate from the novel, but I just had this composition sort of in mind. Should have played more with space for the assignment. : \

It's a pity that the camera couldn't capture the richness of the colors. Anyway, I wish I could steal your shading skill :P. You did really well with the broken color technique. I don't read the novel but I'm interested in next coming paintings.

I agree with Einaus, that picture doesn't do that painting justice.

Wow, not many can get Impressionistic mark-making to work for them, but you've done an excellent job adapting it for yourself! I love the color choice and variety. The way the greens and blues pop into the shadows gives and extra push of richness.

[/art class critique] ...PURTY! *nom*

Thank you, evra!

Wow, I love all of the colors you incorporated into this. The close ups capture better detail of how you combined them and I have to say they work really well together. I wish I could see it in hand for what it really looks like.

I would mail it to you, but I wouldn't feel comfortable trusting it to the federal postal system. : P
Well, that and I need it for my portfolio, haha!

Impressionism is my favourite style by far, I think you did a great piece here!
